This Kitchen Renovation FINNE a very modern new home built in a traditional Tudor around Queen Anne Seattle. Kitchen design depends on creating a very simple continuous space occupied by the intense cabinets, counters and fixtures by American architect Nils Finne of Seattle, Washington. Raised in Norway and the United States, Nils Finne established FINNE Architects in Seattle in 1994, bringing a Scandinavian understanding of craft and landscape to the Pacific Northwest. Dedicated to the idea of Crafted Modernism, Nils typically designs custom lighting, furniture, cabinets and hardware for every project. FINNE has produced more than 80 pieces of custom fabrications, which are also sold as stand-alone items. Materials such as steel, walnut, lime, Alaska yellow cedar textured, and seaweed are used in juxtaposition, allowing each ingredient to benefit from the adjacent contrast in texture and color. Custom door with two panels, and the series of finger joint between two panels that allow doors to be ” L ” shaped, can be pushed fully into the pocket wall, or rolled out and then a second finger joints allows the panel to swing to the ” L ” – form position. Laser -cut steel detailing appears in flowers such as steel bracket supports the pendant hanging on a chair near the window and the steel is placed in front of the subtle nuances of valence on the glass doors at both ends of the kitchen.
