Guest house is a place which reminds us of relaxation, a holiday, a calm and peaceful place. To meet up all these approaches TOTEMS Architecture has landscaped a perfect residence in the land of a natural view. The design is intended to evoke an organic architecture that is influenced by, and reflective of its site. Casey Key Guest House designed by TOTEMS Architecture has a form of a hammock. A hammock always reminds you of summer, relaxation and having a nap after lunch. Beautiful natural wood, beige and white, modern designs are making a perfect place to reside in. The guest residence, located on a barrier island, is set within a mature oak hammock along Sarasota Bay. .
The House has a perfect communication with nature by its big windows and a balcony at the front. Every detail in the house makes you think of rest and calmness and forget about all the problems. The architects were asked to make a calm place occupied by bedroom, Kitchen, a bathroom and a living area by the owner. The owner demanded a house in trees which was followed by the designer by choosing the place exactly approaching the lush greenery. The design of the house is inspired by a large curvature at the front that marks the window enclosure facing the natural views and making the indoor concept of greenery viewing significantly. The structure is inspired by the character of the live oaks, which have been shaped by the prevailing coastal winds from the west. The unique design and architecture is making the house stand out in the landscape and makes it easily recognized even from a distant location. Ship lap cypress siding is used to clad the exterior walls and the interior walls between the glulam beams.
