This three-bedroom apartment in an elegant 1927 coop building in Greenwich Village. The spacious dwelling was created by combining two one-bedroom units. In a bold move, the architects decided to raise the floor of one of the two original sunken living rooms to make a large master bedroom suite and, at the same time, space under the floor to house central air conditioning equipment. The modern kitchen and bathrooms are entirely new. [ Belmont Freeman Architects ]
